Jorge Beltrán and Dani Serrano face their fifth season together after beginning their development in Villarreal’s Mini B team

Jorge Beltrán and Daniel Serrano are just another example of the many talented players from Vila-real who are being brought up in the Yellows Academy alongside teammates from other towns in the province and all over the country. Both face their fifth season sharing a dressing room since they met back in September 2018 when they started playing together in the Villarreal Mini B team.

In that year, Jorge returned to the Miralcamp, where he had already trained in the his early stages, prior to the U8s (pre-benjamin), when the boys and girls begin official competitions. Dani began a new adventure after having played for Andiamo Vila-real the previous season. This U11s team (alevín B), will compete against opponents a year older this year, Jorge and Dani are the two inseparable players of a team that is looking forward to a season of learning, development and having a lot of fun.

As well as being great friends, Jorge and Dani make up the centre-back pair in the U11s, however sometimes their coaches use a three-man defence with Jorge in the centre of defence or on the left flank and Dani on the right. The first player stands out for his good ball control and his attacking influence, although he has usually played in the defensive line since his early days in the Yellows Academy. The second player, on the other hand, shows off his physical strength in every action and has a great shot, which makes him a very versatile player capable of adapting to any position, as he started out as a striker and has been moving backwards, also moving to the wings and midfield.

Both face a major challenge in every game this season due to the physical difference that may exist against players a year older than them, however they already know from their coaches that they will have to compete with “intensity” and “anticipate every challenge”. They have already shown their maturity when, before the start of the 22/23 campaign, they talk about “a year of learning and development”.

The parents of Jorge and Dani, after five years in the Yellows Academy, are very satisfied with the methodology of the Yellow club. “We are very happy because from the first day they made it clear to us that the club, in addition to football progression, they take into account certain values on a personal level. We know that he is in one of the best youth academies in Spain, but here we see something different. They are very focused on his development as a person and his academic record”, emphasise Óscar and Patri, Jorge’s parents.

“We have seen that he has learned to play football in different positions, but also that they have made him a much more mature child and, above all, that he has been very happy at the Miralcamp. He is 10 years old, but he doesn’t look it because of his maturity. He has the responsibility to go to training and is always looking to do his homework and study beforehand”, said Juan and Mamen, Dani’s parents.

So, with the same enthusiasm as always, Jorge and Dani are back training at the Villarreal CF Training Ground and are looking forward to all the competitions ahead of them this season, which promises to be, once again, exciting.
