Miguel Alvarez declares the Mini Submarine will visit Castalia with the mentality of getting all three points

Villarreal B are limbering up for the derby. The Mini Submarine’s coach, Miguel Álvarez, has appeared in front of the press to analise the meeting this weekend between the Yellows’ reserve side and CD Castellón (Sunday, 7pm CEST). “It’s a special match. The derby is extra motivation for us. We’re a young team and these meetings help us gain in maturity,” he said.

The 60-year-old claims that in Castalia, Villarreal B won’t change the style of play it has come to be associated with: “We must be true to our style of play, independent of what our opponent offers. If we don’t play to what we know and we don’t make the most of our strengths, we will be the worse team.” What’s more, Miguel Álvarez also acknowledged the important absences of Lomotey and Sergio Lozano in midfield.

The Mini Submarine will visit Castalia with the aim of getting their first points on the board this season. “It is true that it’s easier to grow on the back of a victory. Wins strengthen your work, but I am calm because the players are working very hard. We are going to Castalia with the mentality of getting the victory because we can’t go there any other way. Representing Villarreal CF means you have to go to every stadium with the goal of taking all three points,” he concluded.
