A season to remember. Gerard Moreno once more took centre stage in Villarreal’s derby win against Valencia CF (2-0). The Catalan striker found the back of the net and provided team-mate Paco Alcácer with an assist.
The Yellows’ No. 7 is the top Spanish goalscorer in LaLiga, with 13 to his name. With Villarreal, he now has 15 goals this season and his impressive performances have seen him debut with the Spanish national side, for whom he has scored three goals in three games.
The Catalan striker underlined his satisfaction with the win in the derby against Valencia, which strengthens the Yellow Submarine’s hopes for the push for Europe: “It’s a very special win. We’re in a really positive run. The team is defending well and that’s the path we need to follow. We want to finish as high as possible.”
