Unai Emery underlines the path to follow to get a positive result against Getafe (Sunday, 2pm CET)
Villarreal CF head coach Unai Emery underlined the path to follow to get a positive result in the Yellows’ visit to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez in Getafe (Sunday, 2pm CET). For the Basque manager, it will be crucial to match the upcoming opponent’s intensity and stay focused throughout the entire match: “We will need to be tenacious and competitive throughout the 90 minutes. They defend high up the pitch and they do it very well. We will try and attack the spaces that they leave, knowing that it won’t be easy at all, and we will also try and win more individual duels. They are very intense and it will be tough, but it is an exciting challenge.”
Emery also highlighted that there will be changes to the team that beat Maccabi Tel Aviv in the UEFA Europa League: “Our idea is to line up with the best team possible for this game. There will be changes, although some players will also stay in the starting XI. Getafe are a very competitive side and the players’ mental state will be important during the game. We need to be strong mentally.”
