Villarreal CF recognises 12 youth players who have completed a decade wearing the Yellows’ shirt

A more than deserved prize for loyalty and passion for the Yellows. Twelve Villarreal academy players, who have reached a decade defending the Yellows shirt, were recognised by the club in an act which was headed by president Fernando Roig, who was responsible for personally giving each player the traditional ceramic submarine. The ceremony, which was also attended by CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles, vice-president José Manuel Llaneza and Yellows ambassador Marcos Senna, took place at the Prefencia Stand at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

Out of those who were recognised, the presence of Víctor Moya Martínez ‘Chuca’, Villarreal B player, stood out. Furthermore, another 11 Yellows Academy players receiving the award are: Vicente Bellmunt García (U19s), Fernando Fabregat Grande (u17s, Rubén Sánchez Gracia (U17s), Marcos Sánchez Arriero (U16s), Javier Guerra Moreno (U16s), Nacho Vila Catalá (U16s), Marc Escuderos Gómez (U16s), Eduardo Bellmunt Arzo (U15s), Rubén Ventura Montilla (U15s), Daniel Ruiz Peña (U15s) and Vera Vicent Cheza (Ladies C).

Roig: “Youth football is key for Villarreal”

Villarreal president Roig underlined that the Yellows will continue backing youth football: “It’s one of the most important parts of the club. It makes us proud and we completely back youth football.” Furthermore, the Yellows boss made the most of the opportunity to highlight the good season of some of the Yellows Academy sides: “It’s been a great season so far for youth football. The reserves are fighting for promotion to Segunda, the Ladies first team has been promoted to Primera B, while the U19s and the U14s are top of their league.”
