Bands and artists from the province of Castellón can now apply to take part in Villarreal CF’s music contest
The fourth edition of Groc Talent is here. Villarreal CF and the SanSan Festival have opened the enrolment period this Friday 22nd September so that artists and bands from the province of Castellón can submit their candidacy and participate in this competition, with the main prize being the chance to perform at the prestigious musical event held annually in Benicàssim.
After three successful editions, Villarreal CF, through Endavant Cultura, is once again mobilising the greatest musical talents of our province, encouraging them to take part in this exciting competition that aims to promote and promote emerging bands in the province of Castellón.
To enter the contest, bands must fill in a simple form, in which they must indicate the name of the artist/group, a short biography, a photograph, a contact telephone number, an e-mail address, a link to three of the group’s songs in MP3 and two performances or video clips (MP4). Links to Spotify, SoundCloud, BandCamp or YouTube with the band’s own content will be considered for the purpose of verifying that the band has sufficient repertoire.
Phases of the competition and voting system
The registration period for the competition will remain open until 1st October at 11:59 pm CEST. From all the applications received, a professional jury will select the ten participating artists. The club will announce the official candidates for the fourth edition of Groc Talent on Wednesday 18th October.
Once the groups have been chosen, Villarreal will distribute the performances over the following dates: 22nd October, 5th and 26th November, 10th and 20th December 2023; 21st January, 4th and 18th February and 3rd March 2024.
The groups will perform live during the warm-up to Villarreal CF’s matches at the Estadio de la Cerámica. Fans will enjoy their performances and will have the opportunity to vote for their favourites to reach the grand final, in which three groups will compete to be the champions of the fourth edition of Groc Talent.
The voting system will be weekly. The voting period will open on the Monday following each group’s performance at 12pm Spanish mainland time, and will end at the same time on the following Monday. Voting will be recorded on the website by means of a score from 1 to 5 for the band in question (1 being the lowest score and 5 the highest).
Once all the participants’ performances have been completed, all the votes cast will be counted to choose the three candidates who will go through to the final. The votes will be the sum of the public, Villarreal and the SanSan management.
After all the performances and the general counting of the votes, the final will be held between the three finalists. The final date and venue are still to be confirmed, but it will take place between 16th and 22nd March 2024.
A professional jury will decide the winners of the competition, who will take part in the 7th edition of the SanSan Festival in Benicàssim.
