Villarreal Women want to make up for defeat in their last league outing and get something from their trip to Levante Las Planas (Sunday, 2pm CET)
Villarreal Women head coach, Sara Monforte, appeared at a press conference ahead of the match against Levante Las Planas (Sunday 24th, 2pm CET) at Les Planes.
This is what she had to say:
How the team goes into the match
“The team, as in recent weeks, has everyone fit with the exception of Irene Miguélez. We’re looking forward to Sunday because it’s a game against a direct rival and, above all, after last weekend.”
Difficult match
“It’s a pitch that conditions the game a lot. For them it’s a final because they’ve just lost in Seville and against Granada. Now they are a very dangerous team. They have a great squad and the crowd is one of the most vocal and that does a lot.”
Making up for the last defeat
“If you can lose, it’s against teams like Madrid CFF who are fighting for the Champions League. It’s true that we were level and they overpowered us in the last half hour. I didn’t get the half-time message right. We’re in tenth position and we’ve only got great teams above us. If it ends like this, we’d be talking about a great season, but there’s still a long way to go and nothing has been resolved. We’re going to compete with a lot of desire.”
