The manager will move into her third season with Villarreal CF

Villarreal CF and Sara Monforte have reached an agreement for the renewal of her contract, which will see the Villarreal Women head coach stay at the club for the 2020/21 season.

Monforte joined the club in the 2018/19 season, and under her guidance, Villarreal Women were promoted to Reto Iberdrola. In the 2019/20 season, the Yellows once more had an impressive campaign, finishing fourth in the Southern Group after the league was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a player, Monforte had a long career, spanning 19 years, 18 of which were in the top flight. That season not in the top flight was with Villarreal in the second tier. Throughout her career, she played for a number of different teams: Levante for four seasons, then four with Espanyol, one with D.S.V. Colegio Alemán, one with Villarreal, three in Valencia and two in Zaragoza. Moreover, she won titles, and represented Spain 11 times. She has eight Copas de la Reina and two league titles to her name.
