The Villarreal president has underlined that the club will do all it can so as many Yellows as possible can go to the final in Gdansk (26th May)

Villarreal CF president Fernando Roig appeared this lunchtime in front of the media to talk about the team qualifying for the UEFA Europa League final, which will take place on Wednesday 26th May in Gdansk (Poland). He also announced the travel plan organised by the club for Yellows to be able to watch the historic game in person.

“We will be in Poland, it’s now a reality. I would like to congratulate the players, the former players, fans, the journalists who follow us, and the people of the club. The achievement is a result of everyone’s work,” underlined Roig at the start of the press conference.

The Yellows head coach underlined his pride at having reached the first final in Villarreal CF’s history: “We are going to represent Spanish football in a European final. It’s really satisfying for every Yellow. A dream come true. We need to enjoy the final and everything that comes with that until the day arrives.”

Roig also underlined that the club will do all it can so as many supporters as possible can go: “We want as many people as possible to go. They’ve given us 2,000 tickets, but we’ve already been in touch with the Royal Spanish Football Federation to see if they can help us get any more.”

Finally, the president underlined that the final will be a party: “We want the team to be excited and to want to come. We are going to do our best to make it as easy as possible for our fans to be alongside us. We are going to prepare everything and we encourage people to sign up and enjoy it with us.”
