The Yellows president has underlined that hosting the game against Atlético Madrid in Miami would be positive for the competition
Villarreal CF president Fernando Roig appeared in front of the press this lunchtime to analyse the agreement reached with LaLiga and Atlético Madrid for Matchday 16, against Los Rojiblancos, to be played in Miami.
He underlined that playing on US soil would not only be a great opportunity for Villarreal, but for all of Spanish football: “It’s a very exciting idea. A historic opportunity. It would help us to grow as a club, but it would also be beneficial for the competition. We hope that it happens. I’m asking for dialogue with and consensus from the RFEF.”
Roig outlined the compensation that Villarreal CF season-ticket holders will get: “600 fans can come to Miami, 3,000 will got to the match at the Wanda Metropolitano free and the rest will get 40% discount on their season ticket for next season.”
