The Catalan defender will be a key player after Alberto Moreno’s latest injury

The Villarreal CF defender, Xavi Quintillà, has appeared in front of the media this afternoon to analyse the latest news regarding the Yellow Submarine, who play on Thursday in the midweek fixture against SD Eibar (7pm in Ipurua). The Catalan defender will be a very important player after the confirmation of Alberto Moreno’s injury: “We already know what football is like. You have to be prepared for what might happen. We don’t enjoy it when good players get injured, but we have to work hard when it happens”.

Meanwhile, the homegrown Yellow has warned of the danger possessed by the Basque team: “We know that Eibar at home are a very challenging team. They open the play to the wings, dead ball situations are one of their greatest strengths and they are a very strong team in the air. They’re a very good side. We will have to compete at the highest level to get a win”.

Quintillà does admit that he’s in a good place: “The match against Eibar will be a test. It will ensure that I keep improving. I think that I’m training at a high level and I want to continue this way”.

Finally, the Catalan defender has spoken about the current purple patch that the team is experiencing: “We are working very hard, showing maturity and strength in our wins. We play with a high tempo when on and off the ball. We have a great team of coaches who always ensure that we are physically prepared for games. We fight right until the final minutes and the guys who come off the bench are helping us a lot.”
