Villarreal lost to Los Che in a tight tie where each side dominated a half (2-1)

Villarreal lost 2-1 to Valencia CF in the third pre-season game at the Pinatar Arena. Unai Emery’s side were impressive in the first half, dominating against their opponent and going ahead on the scoreboard through Samu Chukwueze less than 10 minutes into the game.

The second half saw the side from the capital of the region much improved, and they turned the game around with two Maxi Gómez goals, with the striker equalising in the 65th minute with a header from a corner and ten minutes later with a low shot at the near post. 

Next up for Villarreal in pre-season is a friendly against Real Sociedad on Wednesday 2nd September at 7pm CEST at the Mini Estadi in the Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva).
