Manu Trigueros analyses the Yellows’ good start and showed optimism ahead of the rest of the season
Villarreal have eight points from a possible 15, and are currently fourth in the LaLiga table. For Manu Trigueros, it is easy to assess the start of the campaign: “The reflections are positive. At home, we’ve got seven points from a possible nine. Away from home, we looked completely different at the Wanda than we did in the Barça game. When we return from the international break, we need to continue like this to stay towards the top of the table.”
Trigueros has played 209 minutes in four games, and started the last two games for Unai Emery’s side: “The chance of system has allowed another midfielder to be able to play and that’s been good for me. I can adapt to various positions and I try and adapt to what the manager is asking of me. Competition is always positive. It helps the team have a high level. The club has strengthened well. I know that if I’m at my best, I’ll play games and that’s what I’m trying for. I need to be ready and trust myself. I am working to help the team whatever,” concluded Trigueros.
