Spain U20s beat Qatar in the Semi-finals (2-0)

Yesterday the Spain U20 national team, represented by Yellows Academy players Pepe Castaño and David Fondarella, qualified for the Final of the COTIF (L’Alcúdia International Football Tournament) after beating Qatar (2-0). Centre back Pepe Castaño started the match and played the first half, performing very well, while Fonda came on in the second half of the match.

The U20s started the game sharply. The players were desperate to get to the Final, which the Spanish national team had not reached for several years. The young Spanish side stayed loyal to their style of play. On the right wing, and after various unsuccessful moves, Jordan hit a great strike into the top corner of the net.
Then what was practically the next play, just four minutes later, Spain struck again with the second and final goal of the game that would secure their place in the Final. On this occasion it was Peru who scored, heading home from a corner.

In the second half Luis de la Fuente made substitutions to give all the players minutes and thus, experience. The Final will be this Thursday against Argentina.
