After the medical tests carried out this week to players, coaching staff and people in direct contact with the first team, the Villarreal CF medical staff have confirmed a new positive case of Covid-19.
This person has light symptoms and is in isolation at home, following the healthcare protocol, under the control and monitoring of the club’s medical services, LaLiga and the healthcare authoritiies.
As a way of prevention and following LaLiga’s indications, the club has decided to postpone the pre-season ‘camp’ which was set to take place in the La Finca Hotel in Algorfa (Alicante).
As a precaution, the men’s first-team footballers will return to individual training at the training ground until they undergo medical tests this Thursday.
The new plan is for the men’s first team to head to the La Finca Hotel in Algorfa on Saturday afternoon, and the first pre-season game against Cartagena, which was set for Saturday, will now take place on Sunday at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia (7pm CEST).
As the club has been doing since the first day of the pandemic, Villarreal CF will continue strictly following LaLiga’s healthcare protocol, as well as the instructions of the relevant sporting and healthcare authorities .
