Villarreal B have another final in their battle against relegation this Saturday at 2pm CET against Eldense
Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez appeared at the press conference ahead of the all-important away game against CD Eldense, corresponding to Matchday 29 of LALIGA Hypermotion, which will take place this Saturday at 2pm CET at the Nuevo Pepico Amat.
The Mini Submarine commander underlined the need to score in Elda and warned that the locals, for the coach, “one of the revelation teams”, “are not going to find a B team”, but an experienced and competitive team.
These are the statements of the coach:
To make up for the draw against Zaragoza
“We had three or four chances and we gave them very few options and it would have been logical to win 1-0. It’s past time, but we’re very happy because the team’s response is good. Points are slipping away from us but the best thing is the sensation. Now we’re going to a very difficult ground.”
Positive balance against Eldense
“The statistics are not worth anything. They’ve never played Villarreal B there. Other stats from this season do help us because there are similar behaviours. For me Ferrol and Eldense are the revelation so far in LALIGA Hypermotion. They are a newly promoted team having a great season and their coach is partly to blame for the fact that the players believe they can compete in such a difficult division. Win or lose, they always compete. They have reached the second division and they have appreciated it. What they are doing is here to stay. We know that it will be a difficult field because of their fans, but they won’t find a B team. Right now we don’t look like a reserve team because the lads are competing well.”
How to hurt them
“It has nothing to do with the first half of the season. They have a vital strength for this division which is Marc Mateu, the player, for me, with the most technical responsibility and the amount of goal-scoring moves he generates with his striking. They are a team that generates a lot of set pieces and crosses. They also have weaknesses and we’ll have to get them out of them with our personality and by having the ball if we can get out of their pressure.”
