The Villarreal B manager expects a great show in the match against Castellón (Saturday, 5pm CET)

Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez has underlined that the team is full of confidence going into this Saturday’s derby against CD Castellón at the Mini Estadi (5pm CET, Villarreal CF Live and TVCS). “The team is in a great place. We’re happy because despite losing against Hércules we’re looking strong. The game got away from us by the smallest of margins, but the team looked good against a strong opponent. We’ve been working hard this weekend,” he commented.

For the manager, the upcoming match is important as any other game: “We’re playing against a long-term rival, but at the end of the day, it’s worth three points, like any other match. I’m sure there will be a great atmosphere. Matches in front of a lot of fans are always more enjoyable.”

Regarding Castellón, Álvarez warned of their danger: “Castellón have strengthened well, although the players that were there before were also good. At the end of the day, it’s a results business. From the last 12 points available, they’ve got eight and they’ve only let in a goal. They’ve got a refreshed team with important people there. Furthermore, it looks like they’re in a different place than before. Castellón are going to ask a lot from us because we’re the leader and every side wants to beat us. The second round of fixtures is always hard and home games are important. All the teams have a lot to play for.”

To conclude, Álvarez underlined that the return of Chuca and Migue in this winter market strengthens the group: “Chuca and Migue are coming in with little playing time and they need to get into the rhythm. Their arrival makes the squad better. Chuca is a top player and Miguel will help us in a position where we only have Andrei. I wish Pedrito the best, he needed to play and I’m happy he took the decision to leave.”
