Migue Leal says goodbye to the Submarine after 20 years

The full-back leaves as the player with the most seasons in the Yellows Academy

Migue Leal and Villarreal CF part ways. The full-back from Vila-real leaves as a free agent, as the player with the most seasons in the history of the Yellows Academy. The player arrived at Miralcamp at the age of six to start defending the yellow shirt in the Mini D team. Two decades later, Migue leaves as one of the captains of a Villarreal B team that has achieved the double feat of promotion to Segunda División and subsequent survival in the second tier.

A loyal player

No one in the history of Villarreal had ever represented the academy for so many seasons. Migue Leal went out on loan to Groningen for a season and half a season to Real Murcia, but he had never stopped being a Villarreal player. In the latest LaLiga SmartBank campaign, the full-back played a total of 30 games, 25 of them as a starter, and a total of 2,189 minutes, as well as scoring one goal, his last goal at the Mini Estadi.

Best of luck and success in your new professional adventure, Migue!
