The Argentine player has been presented at the Training Ground as a new Villarreal player

Giovani Lo Celso was presented as a new Yellows player this afternoon. The Argentinian appeared before the media at a press conference held at the Training Ground alongside CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles.

Happy to be back

“I’m very happy to be here again. It was a bit of a long wait, but it was worth it. I left with the clear idea that I wanted to come back because it’s a club that I like for its philosophy, for the objectives it sets itself and for the way I was welcomed from the first day, making me feel as if I had been here for a long time.”

Grateful to the club

“It was a long negotiation, but I am grateful for the trust, patience, support and effort that the club made for a long time. It was not an easy thing for either side. Personally, I was always hopeful and focused on being as physically fit as possible to be ready when the time came.”

The affection of the fans

“The motivation is double when you are shown as much affection as the Villarreal fans have shown me. I hope to repay that affection and that trust by achieving the objectives we have ahead of us in a very exciting season for the club.”

His feelings

“I feel good physically. I’ve been training hard, so I feel good. From the beginning, my objective has always been to be mentally and physically fit. Whether or not I play on Thursday is the coach’s decision, but I feel good and ready.”

An exciting season

“We know it’s a special year for the club because of what it represents for Villarreal and its people. First we must focus on the Conference League match on Thursday because it will be a complicated tie and we will try to get the best possible result at home. In LaLiga the objective is to fight for a Champions League place.”

Hoping for the World Cup

“My objective is firstly to do well with Villarreal. There’s a long way to go until the World Cup and when it arrives I’ll think about it, but the most important thing is to do well here first.”
