The Yellows vice-president has his exemplary career in football in the Region of Valencia recognised

Villarreal CF vice-president José Manuel Llaneza received this afternoon the golden medal from the Valencian Football Federation (Federación de Fútbol de la Comunitat Valenciana – FFCV) as recognition for his extraordinary work during the last 26 years at Villarreal CF. Previously, he also successfully took charge of running the business side of things at UD Puçol.

The highest level of award given to José Manuel Llaneza from the FFCV took place during the General Assembly at La Pexina in Valencia.

A life in yellow

José Manuel Llaneza arrived at the club thanks to Pascual Font de Mora, who has president in 1994. An economist by profession, Llaneza arrived at the club as general manager. He the became CEO, before becoming vice-president in 2011.

With Llaneza as part of the board, Villarreal CF has consolidated its position in the top-flight of Spanish football, with 20 seasons, including this one, in LaLiga. The Yellows have finished runners-up once and have played European football in 15 season (13 if you don’t include the Intertoto Cup). Villarreal reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in 2005/06, the UEFA Cup semi-finals in 2003/04 and the UEFA Europa League semi-finals in 2010/11 and 2015/16.
