Fran Escribá chooses 20 players for this Tuesday’s clash at the Louis II stadium (8:45pm)
The Villarreal CF management team, led by Fran Escribá, have chosen their list of players for the UEFA Champions League Play-off second leg against AS Monaco FC, that will take place this Tuesday at the Louis II stadium (8:45pm CET), where the Yellows will play for survival in the competition.
The chosen 20 players are the following:
- Goalkeepers: Asenjo, Andrés Fernández and Barbosa.
- Defenders: Mario, Rukavina, José Ángel, Jaume Costa, Musacchio and Víctor Ruiz.
- Midfielders: N’Diaye, Bruno, Trigueros, Rodri (number 16), Soriano, Samu Castillejo, Leo Suárez (number 29) and Cantalapiedra (number 27).
- Strikers: Pato, Santos Borré and Mario González (number 39).
Injured:
- Soldado: Tear of anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus in right knee.
- Bakambu: Severe bruising to vastus lateralis in right leg.
- Bonera: Muscle fibre tear of rectus femoris in left leg.
- Jonathan dos Santos: Muscle fibre tear of rectus femoris in left leg.
- Cheryshev: Recovering from surgery (17th May) to the rectus femoris tendon in left leg.
Ineligible due to having played the UEFA Europa League Play-off with US Sassuolo:
- Sansone.
Travel Plan
Villarreal will set out today at 12pm on a flight to Nice, from where they will then travel to Monaco. Once in the Principality, the Yellows will stay at the Hotel Riviera Marriot (Port de Cap d’Ail, 06320), where they will stay until before the match. After the macth finishes the team will return to Castellón on a charter flight.
