Mexico lost the semi-final and will play for third place in the Confederations Cup

Villarreal CF’s Mexican midfielder, Jonathan dos Santos, started for his country in yesterday’s semi-final of the Confederations Cup against Germany. The Germans won the match 4-1 and Jonathan played the first 67 minutes of the clash, before he was substituted for Rafa Márquez. This result means Mexico will now play for third place in the Russia Confederations Cup against Portugal on Sunday 2nd July (2pm CET).

For his part, Rodrigo Hernández will play in tonight’s U21 European Championships final in Poland. Spain U21 will also face Germany U21 in a match that will kick off at 8:45pm CET (televeised on channel ‘Cuatro’).
