Miguel Álvarez has underlined the importance of the tie and the potential that Barça B possess (Sunday, 6pm CET)

Villarreal B manager Miguel Álvarez, appeared in front of the press this lunchtime to analyse the build-up to the match against Barcelona B on Sunday (6pm CET). He underlined the importance of the game at the Johan Cruyff Stadium: “It’s a very important game, as the games are flying by and we need the points. What’s more, goal difference could be crucial at the end of the season and so it won’t be a normal game. It’s not a three-pointer, it’s a four-pointer for us.”

The Mini Submarine boss described their upcoming oppnents as one of the most talented in the league and underlined that there was little between the two sides in previous meetings: “Both teams set up well, which make it interesting and even games. They are matches that are decided by the talent of every one of the players. We always go into games hoping to win.”

To conclude, Álvarez spoke about the magnificent second half of the season Villarreal B area having so far, despite the numerous blows they have faced: “Since we came back from the Christmas holidays, the team have taken a step forward. We have also had to reinvent ourselves after losing places like Chakla, Simón Moreno and Ramón Bueno. Because of that, we’re very happy with the boys and our form in this second half of the season. The only option is to keep on working.”
