Villarreal’s five internationals have now completed their second match of the international fixture list and are heading back to their club. Carlos Bacca was once against a starter for Colombia in their 3-1 with over Costa Rica. The Yellow’s No.9 was on form for his country, opening the scoring in the 30th minute.
Karl Toko Ekambi played 20 minutes in Cameroon’s goalless draw against Malawi, which kept the ‘Indomitable Lions’ top of Group B in the qualifying stage for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Spanish U21 internationals, Pablo Fornals and Alfonso Pedraza, came on in the second half of the impressive showing by ‘La Rojita’, as they beat Iceland U21s 2-7.
Finally, Ramiro Funes Mori did not make it off the bench in Argentina’s 0-1 defeat to Brazil in Saudi Arabia.
