The Yellows midfielder celebrated the team reaching their European goal and underlined his team-mate’s professionalism
Villarreal midfielder Vicente Iborra appeared in front of Villarreal TV to analyse the team reaching their goal of being in Europe next season, after the game against Real Madrid (2-1): “We were outside the European spots and we had a negative run of results before lockdown and we’ve had an impressive end to the LaLiga season. We’ve managed to reach our aim one game before the season is over.”
The Valencian recognised his team-mate’s professionalism, with the side returning to league action in optimal condition: “All of my team-mates were very professional during lockdown. The proof is that everyone arrived in good shape for the last stage in LaLiga and we’ve got great results.”
With respect to the defeat to Real Madrid, Iborra underlined his pride that the Yellows gave their all until the very end: “They were better in the first half, despite not having clear chances. Then their goals arrived but we knew how to show our character and we could even have drawn. We’ve only got one game left and we would like to end the league in the best way possible, with a win that would see us finish fifth.”
