Xavi Quintillà underlines that the team is continuing to grow and is in a good place ahead of the match against Espanyol

Villarreal’s Catalan left-back Xavi Quintillà underlined that he believes the team is on the right path for a good season. To reach their goals, Quintillà emphasised that the keys were to be humble and hard-working: “We’ve started well. We have great players and from hard work and staying humble we can have a great year. Last season is now in the past. The team is focused on doing everything well this season. We’re working hard and getting better. We believe in our chances.”

Next up for the Submarine is a trip to Espanyol after the international break: “Espanyol have a good team. In Europe, they’re doing well, although it is true that it’s not going as well for them in the league. We’re expecting an extremely tough opponent. Every match is very competitive. We know that away from home, it’s more complicated, but we’re competing well. The team wants to compete. We can’t wait for the match against Espanyol. We’re really motivated,” he commented.

To conclude, Quintillà underlined his happiness that four of his team-mates have been called up by the Spain national squad and wished them luck: “We have four players with Spain and we will be looking out for them. Hopefully the four can play, I want to send them my best wishes from here.”
