VILLARREAL CF

The young Yellows side is learning with a winning routine after starting the season impeccably

Enthusiastic and keen to grow as footballers. These are the two main qualities that are evident from our U9 (Benjamín A) side with new faces, whose 12 members dream of one day putting on the Villarreal shirt at the spectacular Estadio de la Cerámica. Although to arrive at that point, these children, who are just eight years old, have a lot in front of them and will have to learn and have fun while wearing the colours of their team, the Yellow Submarine.

At the moment, these young stars have started the season in a way that could not be bettered. After four games played, they have 12 points and four victories.

In their recent training sessions, as one of their coaches Mario Bárcena explains, they have put emphasis on playing the ball out from the back. “These last few weeks, we’ve been focusing on this. We are trying to improve them a bit on knowing what to do when playing the ball out from the back, so they can learn on what to do when a number of players put pressure on, and what to do in each situation,” he explained.

On a technical level, these talented young Yellows show great ability. “We have players with a high technical ability and with a lot of natural resources with, or without, the ball at their feet. These helps them to solve many situations. What’s more, they are passionate about football. They live it a lot. They are always involved in the technical chats. We get feedback from them and they show enthusiasm to us. This year we’ve introduced the whiteboard and they’ve accepted it completely. Generally, we are very happy with their commitment and their keenness to learn,” he added.

The squad is made up of the following players: Mathias Birlodeanu, Nicolás Buñuel, Alexandru Buzaeanu, Arnau Calas, Alejandro Duque, Aleix Ferrer, Jordi González, Jordi Mata, Román Teresa, Iván Valderrama, Raúl Estephano Varzaru and Adrián Vivo.

The coaching staff is made up of the following individuals: Mario Bárcena, Vicente Masiá, Antonio Olmo, Carlos Moreno, David Segarra and Karim Hamidi.
