The Villarreal CF Manager has received this award for his team’s great finish to 2016
Fran Escribá is the winner of the LaLiga Santander’s Best Manager Award for December, thanks to the results achieved by Villarreal CF in the final month of the year. This award, given by the Santander bank, the competition’s main sponsor, and chosen by the editors of LaLiga.es, was presented by D. Rafael Luis Díaz Iglesias, Director of ‘Grandes Empresas – Territorial Valencia – Murcia’.
With a draw and two convincing wins against Atlético de Madrid and Real Sporting on the last three Matchdays in 2016, the Yellows finished the year in fourth place in the table. Right now, Villarreal sit in fifth with 30 points, one behind Atlético de Madrid in fourth. The Yellow Submarine hope to continue with this good streak in 2017 and finish the season in a UEFA Champions League spot.
