The supervisors at the residence are trained in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation by the CEU

Prepared. The twelve tutors at Villarreal’s Academy residence have been trained in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by CEU Cardenal Herrera University Nursing professor, Rafael González Moret, who travelled to the training ground (Ciudad Deportiva), as well as the CEU Cardenal Herrera University Health Sciences vice-dean, Paula Sánchez.

This was the second CPR training course to take place at the training ground, as in December 2017 the first-team footballers participated in the first edition of the course. This coming Wednesday, the Villarreal B team players will complete the CPR training course.

The objective of these training sessions is so that tutors can respond quickly and effectively in the case of finding themselves in an emergency situation with an Academy player. Therefore, they can start the process for a basic revival while waiting for the arrival of professionals, who could perform a more advanced intervention. It is worth noting that nearly 100 young footballers live in the residence. The tutors practiced different revival methods.

This training initiative is part of an ongoing collaboration between the CEU Cardenal Herrera University and Villarreal CF as part of ‘Endavant Formació’. It is a leading agreement in which both parties have agreed to work together to promote research and training with regards to health, education and communication.
