Villarreal manager Javi Calleja underlines that the team will give its all to beat Comillas and stay in the competition

Villarreal manager Javi Calleja underlined this afternoon that the team is keen on getting far in the Copa del Rey. First up in the competition is Comillas CF at Las Gaunas (Wednesday, 6pm CET): “When it’s time for the Copa del Rey, you get excited about getting as far as possible. In tomorrow’s match against Comillas, we want to make it clear that we respect them as much as possible. We need to give our all to play well and get through to the next round,” he said.

The Yellows are approaching the final stage of 2019 with ambition. “We need to focus on ourselves, but always respecting our opponents. We will try and put in a good game playing the right style of football. We want to put together three wins in a row and go into the match against Getafe with morale high,” underlined the head coach.

Finally, Calleja emphasised that Wednesday’s opponents play good football: “We’ve seen a number of Comillas matches. They’re a team that try and play well and they will be excited to play for sure. The best way of respecting them is by being ourselves and putting in a good performance.”
