The Villarreal Manager was very satisfied with his team’s performance
Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá, was extremely satisfied after his team’s emphatic victory over Celta de Vigo (5-0). In fact, the Manager recognised that it has been one of his team’s best matches since his arrival at the club. “It could be our best match, above all because of the quality of our opponents. Celta come from beating Barcelona, they’re playing in Europe and are a team that are always high up. In this respect, yes, it has been our most complete game”, he commented.
Room for improvement for the squad
With regard to his team’s performance, he reiterated his preference to be able to play different styles. “This squad has more than enough reasons to play different styles. If there was something to improve it was positional play. Having players like Trigueros, Jonathan and Bruno and limiting them to staying tight and defending is using less them for less than what they’re capable of doing”, he explained.
In addition, Esbribá also spoke about Roberto Soriano’s splendid performance, who scored two of the Yellows’ five goals. “I think he still has room for improvement, as he still lacks a few things”, he said about the Italian-German. “I want him to be more vertical and he’s doing that more and more”, he concluded.
