Villarreal CF head coach Unai Emery was happy with the win over Victoria CF (0-8), which sees the Yellows move into the draw for Round Two of the Copa del Rey: “The team put in a serious performance, and were focused, like I wanted them to be. I’m pleased with the performance of my players because they respected the tournament and the opposition.
The manager also was pleased with the participation of debutants Dani Tasende, Adrián de la Fuente and Nikita Iosifov: “Players from the B team were involved. It’s important for them to feel close to the first team so they can help us when we need them to. The club works a lot with the academy, and we trust the academy, and we try and give opportunities to the youngsters here.”
Finally, the Basque coach wanted to congratulate Victoria CF for their performance: “I want to congratulate Victoria for being able to enjoy the game, and I want to thank them for being able to enjoy it alongside them.
