The Villarreal head coach hailed his team’s side at the Wanda Metropolitano
Villarreal head coach Unai Emery appeared in front of the media to analyse the draw against Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano (0-0). “It’s a good point. We wanted to get the three that were up for grabs, but we put in a good performance and we’re going away satisfied. We’re on the right path and that helps us to establish a solid base ahead of the future.”
The Basque manager hailed his side’s competitive level, as well as how they played in such a difficult stadium to visit: “The competitive level was very good. We knew how to dig in, although we didn’t give Atlético Madrid much. We also had our moments of possession, dominance and control of the game and we even had four or five chances where we could have gone home with the game.”
