Villarreal CF, the men’s first team and the Fundación Carlos Bacca will provide more than 200 daily meals to Cáritas Vila-real to collaborate in the fight against COVID-19

In these tough times, where Spain find itself in a situation of a State of Alarm due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Villarreal CF wants to help society how it can. After valuing different options to try and cover possible necessities, the club has decided to guarantee food for families short of recourses and in risk of social exclusion, through Cáritas Vila-real. Taking into account the current restrictive mentions decreed by the government to face coronavirus, with the closure of schools, restaurants and bars, Cáritas does not have its usual amount of provisions to be able to help people, nor the usual amount of volunteers due to the confinement situation. Due to that, the club, the men’s first team and the Fundación Carlos Bacca have launched the #CuentaConmigo (Count on Me) campaign, committing to deliver food, which will be cooked at the Estadio de la Cerámica, and give more than 200 daily meals to Cáritas to continue with their usual and invaluable work.

Furthermore, as a way of showing thanks and hoping to give something back, the club will provide its restaurant services for free to collectives from our region who are fighting for the health and security of everyone.

Villarreal CF profoundly laments the current situation and asks its fans to act responsibly to avoid the propagation of COVID-19. The club is offering its help to medical authorities as much as possible to help join the fight against the coronavirus and wants to offer a profound thanks to all of those in the battle against it, from medical staff, to armed forces, the police and the civil guard.
