The Valencian goalkeeper will stay with Villarreal Women
Villarreal CF and Carmen Carbonell Gil (26/07/1999, Valencia) have reached an agreement for the Valencian goalkeeper to stay at the club for the upcoming season. Carbonell will continue her ties to the club until 30th June 2023.
The young goalkeeper joined the Yellows halfway through the 2020/21 season, where she represented the B team, and provided options for Sara Monforte’s first team, being part of the historic promotion to the top flight of Spanish football. This season, she made her first-team debut in the Copa de la Reina, helping the Yellows reach the last 16 in a penalty shootout.
Carbonell becomes the 15th Villarreal Women player to confirm their place at the club next season, as she definitely joins the first team, alongside Tere Morató, Sheila Guijarro, Lara Mata, Irene Miguélez, Vera Rico, Elena de Toro, Belén Martínez, Yenifer Giménez, María Cienfuegos, Paola Soldevila, Nerea Pérez, Pancha Lara, Ainoa Campo and Estefa Lima.
