The Villarreal manager was very happy with how his team looked against Celta
A complete Villarreal. That’s how Javi Calleja defined his side after the important win against RC Celta at Balaídos. “We put in a complete performance, from the start to the end. We could have scored in the first half. After the break, it was a bit more balance, until the last few minutes. We were more vertical then and the players we have made the difference.”
For Calleja, all of the footballers who played were important in the final results: “We keep on mentioning the importance of the whole squad. There’s a lot of action in not many games. Today we knew how to cope with the game and we created chances. Those who came off the bench knew what the game needed. The hard work by everyone was extraordinary.”
The head coach underlined how the Yellows were the better side away from home: “We showed a lot of personality from the very start. We were balanced and took control of the ball. We lined up with a 4-4-2 and we were very balanced. I’m very happy because we’ve got a win at a tough stadium to visit.”
This result moves the Yellows closer to the European spots. “Europe is a dream that could come true because of the team we have. We came into the game after a bad run and this team is in a position where we can fight to be in Europe. We will fight to make this dream come true,” he concluded.
