Calleja: “I’ll go away happy with the team’s hard work”

The Villarreal manager underlined the hard work and personality shown by his players against a high-quality opponent

Villarreal head coach Javi Calleja underlined in the post-match press conference the hard work of his players: “We’re leaving unhappy with the result. We weren’t able to score, but I’ll go away happy with the hard work the team put in. We put in a great collective effort and we competed well against a great opponent.”

The Yellows manager regretted that the chance where Gerard Moreno hit the post in the first half did not lead to a goal: “We showed personality in a tough ground to come to. We had a chance to get in front with the shot that hit the post and they then scored from a set piece. That hurt us a lot. Despite that, we got ourselves together and in the second half we were able to get the ball from Barcelona. In the second half, we were in their half a lot, but we didn’t have many chances.”
