Gerard Moreno has praised the strong defensive performance shown against RCD Espanyol and has ensured that they’re on the right path going forward.
The Villarreal CF striker, Gerard Moreno, appeared in front of the press to analyse the victory against RCD Espanyol. The Submarine “7” seemed satisfied with the team’s efforts: “On the basis that we didn’t concede, we are improving and that is really important. Moving up the table gives us confidence. Things are going well and we’re feeling good, but we can’t afford to relax.”
LaLiga’s top goalscorer, with six goals – joint with Benzema and Loren Morón – has highlighted the overall high standard in the top division. “The level is pretty equal and it’s really difficult to win matches. They were very intense, with wide crosses into the box. The goal was important as it allowed us to remain calm and force them to take more risks. In the second-half, it was the result against Osasuna that showed us how to hold onto a lead and get the win.”
