The forward will stay with Villarreal Women for another year
Villarreal CF and Belén Martinez Sousa (24/11/1988, Olivenza, Badajoz) have reached an agreement for the extension of the forward’s contract for next season. Martínez will stay at Villarreal CF until 30th June 2023, with the option to extend her contract for another year.
The attacker joined Villarreal Women this season, becoming one of the most used players in Sara Monforte’s squad. She played in all 30 Primera Iberdrola matches, starting 25 of them, scoring five times. She will continue to bring danger up front to opposition defences as Villarreal Women head into their second season in the top-flight of Spanish football.
The forward is the seventh player to form part of the Villarreal Women squad for the 2022/23 season, alongside Tere Morató, Sheila Guijarro, Lara Mata, Irene Miguélez, Vera Rico and Elena de Toro.
