Javi Calleja underlined the need to be confident in defence in order to win at Anoeta
Villarreal manager Javi Calleja appeared in front of the media to analyse the league tie against Real Sociedad (Thursday, 8:30pm CEST). The Yellows boss highlighted defensive security as one of the keys to the clash against the team from San Sebastián: “It’s an away match against a very good opponent, a team that play football well. Watching them is a real pleasure. We will try and dominate both our opponent and the game. The team who defends better will be the team that takes the game, for sure. Getting points is always positive, and winning would be a real push.”
Calleja underlined the team’s wish to confirm survival as soon as possible: “If we relax, we will be waiting until the last game to save ourselves, and you never know what could happen. We need to try and confirm staying up as soon as possible. Real is the first match for us now, and from there, we have a schedule that we hope will help us achieve our objective.”
