Francis Coquelin underlined his contentment at being able to help the team in the closing stages of the season

Villarreal midfielder Francis Coquelin appeared in front of the media to analyse his return to the pitch and the current situation for Villarreal, ahead of this Saturday’s match against RC Celta (6:30pm CET) at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

A message of support for Alberto Moreno

“I want to send a message of support to my team-mate Alberto Moreno, who received a tough blow this week with a serious knee injury. I want to send him a big hug and I want him to know that he has the support from the whole team. He will come back stronger.”

Fully recovered and ready to play

“I’m very happy to have returned and to be able to play. These two years have been a bit difficult with the injuries, but now I’m good and I’m enjoying myself again. I’m fully ready to help the team.”

A luxury reinforcement for the decisive stage of the season

“I want to get into physical shape quickly and get match fit. I’m feeling good. What’s left is a nice part of the season. We want to compete for good objectives and I’m committed to that.”

A new challenge against RC Celta

“RC Celta are a team who play very well. They’re in a positive run. They’re a difficult opponent to face. Last year, they beat us at home. They have good players, especially up front, like Denis Suárez and Iago Aspas. At home, we’re strong. Against Espanyol, we put in a complete performance and now we want to do the same against Celta, especially after the defeat to Osasuna.”

100% focused on LaLiga

“We’re only thinking about the match against Celta. Wednesday’s game is great, but you don’t play games like that if you’re not doing well in LaLiga. We have to be focused on the match against RC Celta to be able to play European football next season again. The most important thing right now are the three points up for grabs this Saturday.”

The fight for Europe

“LaLiga is very competitive. We’re focused on ourselves. We’re going to fight until the end. We have a great squad and we want to play in Europe each year. We’re not going to fight for anything, but we need to go game by game. We have a very important game against Celta this Saturday and we want to get the three points.”
