Villarreal B manager Miguel Álvarez analyses this Sunday’s match with FC Andorra (12pm CET)
Villarreal B manager Miguel Álvarez underlined the importance of the match this Sunday (12pm CET) against FC Andorra: “Andorra are a direct rival of ours. They strengthened phenomenally in the winter transfer window with some great players. Our games at home will be crucial. We’re in a good place. We’ve won four matches in a row at home. We’ve matured as a team and we’re capable of being a steamroller once more. We’ve improved a lot along the way. I hope we continue like that on Sunday.”
Villarreal B are third in the table after five wins and a draw in their last six league matches. Andorra are eighth in the table, five points away from the Yellows. The Mini Submarine coach doesn’t believe recent good results are a coincidence: “We tried to work individually with each player to make the group stronger. It’s a long-term job. We’re lucky to have very good players. Despite that, we can’t rest on our laurels. We need to be demanding.”
Finally, Álvarez praised his team’s impressive performance in their 2-3 win over Barcelona B, underlining that is the path to follow: “We’re very happy, first of all because of the victory, and then because of how we won and where we won too. We have to continue like that.”
