In total, the centre-back played 3,686 minutes, split between LaLiga (2,966), UEFA Europa League (630) and Copa del Rey (90). Just behind him were Ramiro Funes Mori (3,535) and Pablo Fornals (3,440).
Not even some injury problems in a few of the matches stopped Álvaro from playing 41 games in the recently-finished season, all of them as a starter. Throughout those games, he scored one goal and provided three assists for his team-mates.
In the previous 2017/18 season, Álvaro was also one of the players with the most minutes for the Yellows, finishing in the top three with 3,349.
