All together against Deportivo Alavés

Villarreal will be fighting for an important win against the Basque side (Sunday, 6:30pm CEST)

Villarreal CF and Deportivo Alavés will meet this Sunday at 6:30pm CEST to fight for more than just three points at the Estadio de la Cerámica. The Yellows will be looking for a valuable league win that will propel them up the table and, above all, give them confidence for the near future.

To achieve this, the Submarine will need the full support of their fans, who are aware of the importance of the league game against the Basque side. With the encouragement of their fans, the Yellows will try to forget the defeat against Las Palmas (1-2) and reverse the negative balance of the first league matches held at the Estadio de la Cerámica (four losses and one win).

Both teams come into the game level on points in the league table. Villarreal are 16th with nine points, the same as their opponents, Alavés, who are 17th. Like the Submarine, the priority for the visitors is to get three points and break the deadlock of five consecutive games without a win (three defeats and two draws).

In the visiting dugout, an old acquaintance of Villarreal CF will take the bench: Luis García Plaza. The coach from Madrid is now in charge of the team from Vitoria after last season’s heroic last-gasp promotion to the top flight.
