Yellows defender Raúl Albiol analysed last night’s tight victory over Arsenal (2-1) with Villarreal TV: “We managed to go 2-0 up and the game was really going our way, but then the referee has tried to even things up after sending off Ceballos, and we’re the ones who have ended up losing out.”
Villarreal’s No.3 said that the tie is still very much alive, and that the Submarine will have to fight very hard in England in order to reach the final: “They’ve managed to cling on to the tie – it’s still very much alive. 2-0 up and with an extra man, we should have been going into next week’s game with a healthier advantage, but we made some mistakes and they’ve managed to salvage a decent result. We will have to fight for 90 minutes in London to try to make it to the final.”
