A more than deserved tribute. Villarreal CF wanted to pay homage before the Alavés match to Santi Cazorla and Moi Gómez for having reached 300 and 100 official matches respectively for the club. Two footballers made in the Yellows Academy who continue impressing for the Submarine. The former captain and current Institutional Relations department member Marcos Senna was the man who gave them a commemorative shirt on the Estadio de la Cerámica pitch.
Cazorla, counting tonight’s game against Alavés, has 304 games under his belt: 226 in LaLiga, 46 in the Europa League, ten in the Champions League, 15 in the Copa del Rey and seven in the Intertoto Cup.
Gómez has 103: 61 in LaLiga, 24 in Segunda, 12 in Copa del Rey and six in the Europa League.
