VILLARREAL CF

More than 6.000 fans attended the presentation of the stadium’s new name

Exciting, spectacular, impressive, unforgettable… this evening Villarreal CF presented its stadium’s new name, ‘Estadio de la Cerámica’, with a tremendous visual spectacle projected onto the remodelled facade of the South Stand. A celebration that more than 6.000 Yellows fans attended, enjoying the prematch moments before the league clash between Villarreal CF and FC Barcelona.

The presentation event was attended by the Villarreal CF Board of Directors, led by President Fernando Roig, the LaLiga President, Javier Tebas, and the Mayor of Vila-real, José Benlloch. Afterwards, the three spoke at a press conference together in the press room at the ‘Estadio de la Cerámica’.

The visual spectacle consisted of an impressive ‘video mapping’ projected onto the facade of the South Stand (Fondo Sur) of the ‘Estadio de la Cerámica’ that reviewed the evolution of the Villarreal CF stadium; starting with when it was inaugurated on 17th June 1923 under the name ‘Campo del Villarreal’, then spending almost a century known as the ‘El Madrigal’ stadium, to today, changing its name to the ‘Estadio de la Cerámica’.
