The Yellows dominated against Ebro and deserved the three points

Villarreal B drew against CB Ebro at the Mini Estadi (1-1) in a match where the Yellows reserves deserved to win against a defensive opponent. The Mini Submarine had control of the ball and had clear goalscoring opportunities, but finally, a set piece let to the draw.

Miguel Álvarez’s side dominated from the first minute. In fact, they could have scored two goals in the opening moments. First from Edu Espiau’s header and a bit later from a right-footed Diego Collado effort.

With half an hour gone, there was a moment of controversy. Ramón Bueno was pulled back in the box, but the referee decided it was not a penalty.

The opening goal arrived in the 61st minute. Iván Martín escaped his marker and played the ball back to Collado to score.

The goal made Ebro push forward more. Stéphane Emaná’s effort hit the post, before Mukwelle Akale was denied by the woodwork for the Yellows.

The match was end-to-end. Ebro made the most of a set piece to equalise through a Fran García Murillo header (1-1, m.88).

The Mini Submarine threw everything at Ebro, who ended the match with ten men, after Paco Aguza was sent off in added time for a foul on Dani Villa, who was one-on-one with Salva. There was no time for anything else.

Next up for Villarreal B is an away game to Cornellà.
