The Reserves beat CD Eldense with goals by Carlos López (2), Carlos Martínez and Franco Acosta
The Villarreal B team had an all-round great game and picked up an emphatic win against CD Eldense (4-0); a victory that takes them to within touching distance of the promotion zone. The Yellows’ goals were scored by Carlos Martínez, Franco Acosta (penalty) and Carlitos López (2), who finished off his former team and has scored four goals in the last two games.
Dynamic, intense and full of goals. That sums up the Reserves’ first half against the team from Elda, who could not do anything against the home side. The Yellows’ first goal came in the 12th minute and it was a triple effort, firstly Lazo’s shot hit the post, then Carlos Martínez’s shot was saved by the Eldense keeper, but Carlos López had the final say from close range and opened the scoring for the home side. And the Yellows number 9 soon got himself on the score sheet again, scoring the second goal of the game with a lovely chip over the goalkeeper after great team play.
In the second half, the Villarreal B team continued to dominate the match. Paco López’s men played brilliantly both in defence and attack, taking advantage of the spaces left by Eldense’s defence. And this is exactly how the 3-0 came about in the 64th minute. Carlos Martínez slotted the ball past the Eldense keeper after a great ball over the top by Carlos López. The fourth goal was scored from the penalty spot after Mario González was brought down in the box. Franco Acosta made no mistake converting the spot kick and made it 4-0 on the score board at the Mini Estadi.
The Villarreal B team’s next match will be on 26th February against Badalona at the Montigalà stadium (6:30pm CET).
