Villarreal U19s beat Real Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals with a Galdón goal

Villarreal U19s came away with a hard fought win against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals (1-0). A goal from Jorge Galdón in the 85th minute gave an advantage to the Yellows in a great match.

There was nothing between the two sides from the kick-off. The best chance of the first half came from Fer Niño, whose right boot fired off a powerful shot which flew off the bar (min. 37).

In the second half, both teams were felled by the bar. First, it was Real Madrid with a long-range effort (min. 53), and then it was Villarreal, with a Juan Carlos Arana effort (min. 77).

The only goal of the tie came in the 85th minute. Carlo Adriano started a counter attack, Niño played the ball on to Jose Blanco, whose shot was saved by the Madrid goalkeeper. Galdón jumped on the rebound to score in front of an open goal. Deadly.

The second leg will be on Sunday 23rd July at 12pm CEST in Valdebebas. This match will be shown on Villarreal CF Live.
